Aging
with Arinna Weisman

Monday evenings from
7:00 pm — 9:00 pm
September 8 — 29
Suggested donation $28 – $40 plus teacher Dana

The Buddha saw aging as a heavenly messenger calling our hearts to awaken. Our habitual minds experience these changes with fear and it is easy to fall into the trap of believing this fear especially in a culture that relegates the aged and sick into invisibility. In indigenous cultures older members of the community are respected as wise and carriers of the stories of the past. We will call on this wisdom and our capacity to be aware and loving of this process to free ourselves from the constrictions of fear and cultivate a new relationship to body and mind changes.

Finding Peace in What Is: The Power of Now
with Jean Esther

Monday evenings from
7:00 pm — 9:00 pm
October 6 — November 3
Suggested donation $35 – $50 plus teacher Dana

How often do we find ourselves so caught in lamenting the past or projecting into the future that we're hardly aware of the present but for a sense of general agitation? The peace which results from connecting fully with the present moment is quite accessible yet like any skill, it takes practice to access it. This fiveweek class is designed to help strengthen our mindfulness practice and explore the Buddha's teachings on Equanimity as they apply to our lives today. The class will include meditation (with some instruction), Dharma teachings, discussion, questions and answers.
